Intensive courses

These courses are designed for students who want to learn Spanish or improve their knowledge of the language in a short period of time.

Intensive courses have the following characteristics:

• A maximum of 5 students per class.

• Classes cover pronunciation, grammar, usage, conversation, reading comprehension, textual analysis and composition.

• All students are required to do homework consisting of grammar exercises and reading assignments to be discussed in class.

• There are 6 levels: Beginner I and II, Intermediate I and II, and Advanced I and II.

General language courses



Our general language group courses are designed for those who want to learn a new language or develop their present knowledge for private, educational or professional reasons. We provide courses at all levels, from beginner to advanced.

If you want to combine your language studies with other activities, the Standard 20 Course is the ideal programme for you. During the lessons you will learn communication skills in a variety of everyday situations. The lessons cover grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and skills practice in speaking, listening, reading and writing. We use a wide variety of materials and exercises including role-plays, authentic recorded material, newspapers and magazines. This course is offered in the mornings or in the afternoon.

The Notting Hill Intensive 30 course concentrates on all the areas that you need to achieve a much greater fluency in a short period of time. This course is suitable for students who wish to study intensively and get a well rounded insight into the language and country. Students on the Intensive 30 course study the same lessons as described for Standard 20 in the morning. The afternoon classes further intensify the tuition and consolidate what you have learnt, through fluency practice and a comprehensive review of the culture and customs of your host country. For those studying Spanish who work in, or are planning a career in business, we offer the Spanish for Business Course, which can be incorporated into your Intensive 30 course as an afternoon option. Students may also follow examination preparation courses as part of this course.

**Spanish for holiday**



Our short programmes are ideal for first time learners. They are also useful and practical for travelling and socialising and especially Ideal for clients going on short trips wanting to gain basic language skills.



In all classes there is an emphasis on providing useful, relevant language using up-to-date and interesting materials. Students are encouraged to practise the language in class through a range of activities to help build confidence and develop fluency.

We welcome mature students of all ages, who are “young at heart” on all our courses throughout the year. In addition at specific locations, we recommend social activities which suit the more mature student’s interests.

Methods of payment

Bank transfer

If you decide to pay for the course by bank transfer, the payment must be made at least one week before the first class. Please give a copy of the bank transfer to the director on the first day of class.

Cash
